The Bransford Webbs Plant Company
The Bransford Webbs Plant Company is one of the leading growers of ornamental plants in the UK. We are a wholesale nursery based in Worcestershire and supply new and innovative plant promotions to garden centres across the UK. Established in 1961, the nursery covers fifteen hectares and produces two million plants per year.
Approximately half of plants sold are propagated on the nursery and our final plants are grown in glasshouses, polytunnels or on outdoor beds, depending on the individual requirements of the crop. We have a proactive integrated crop management system in place and see biological control as the only sustainable method of pest and disease control going forward. Investment annually in biological controls is seven times more than all chemicals combined. We are developing a sustainable pathway to a peat free future, and currently all growing media is at least 60% peat free, with some crops grown in 100% peat free.
The nursery is proud to be a local employer, employing up to 100 staff during peak season. We have held the British Standard in Environmental Management Systems for over 10 years, and sustainability is a key element in our decision making.
